How To Make Changes To A Template
To erase a word, place the curser before a particular word, click once and press delete to erase it. Or place the curser after the word, click once and press backspace to erase it.
Here are a few ways to select different parts of a document:
| a word |
Double-click anywhere on the word. |
| a line |
Click once in the left margin next to the line. |
| multiple lines |
Click in the left margin next to the line and drag up or down. |
| a sentence |
Hold down the "Ctrl" key while you click on the sentence. |
| a paragraph |
Click three times in the paragraph to select the entire paragraph or double-click in the left margin next to the paragraph. |
| entire document |
Click three times in the left margin of the document. |
Another way to select a range--like three sentences in a paragraph or two next paragraphs--is to click once to put the insertion point where you want the selection to start and move the mouse pointer where you want the selection to stop. Then, hold down the "Shift" key while you click once.
If you start typing while something is highlighted, the old text will be erased and your new text will appear in its place. So be sure you only highlight what you want to erase.
Try practicing all the different methods on one of the templates. This will get you familiar with the way they work and then when you do your actual resume it won't be so frustrating.
