Eric Paul Fournier's Award-Winning Documentary "Of Civil Wrong and Right"

The San Diego Public Library in partnership with the Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego will screen "Of Civil Rights and Wrongs". The film will be facilitated by Professor Susan Hasegawa, chair of History & Political Science Department at San Diego City College.

Award-Winning Documentary Film "From a Silk Cocoon"

The San Diego Public Library and the Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego will screen the documentary film "From a Silk Cocoon". The film delves into the experience of a young Kibei couple, Shizuko and Itaru Ina who responded to the loss of their civil liberties by renouncing their American citizenship during their internment. It is based on personal documents recently discovered by Dr. Satsuki Ina, the film producer and daughter of Shizuko and Itaru. This event is free and open to the public.

The San Diego Public Library, in partnership with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of San Diego and Imperial Counties and the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, will host "Less Safe, Less Free: Why We Are Losing The War On Terror" (PDF:29K) at the Lyceum Theater.
