Local Author Program
The Local Author Program highlights the intellectual and creative accomplishments of writers and nurtures budding writers in the San Diego region. Special events are held for authors including book discussions, writing workshops and author talks, where writers can interact directly with their readers as they share, sell and sign their books.
Local Author Exhibit
A centerpiece of the Local Author Program is the annual Local Author Exhibit. The 2014 Local Author Exhibit produced one of the largest turnouts ever with over 300 authors and co-authors furnishing over 270 book titles including 30 titles in e-book format published in 2014 and reflecting the diversity of San Diego's population and equally diverse scope of interest. The exhibit's online component will stay up until December 2015.
Subjects represented in the Exhibit range from biography, business, legal works, fiction, poetry, immigrant stories, cooking, self-help, military-themed titles, San Diego history, and books by children and teen authors. The 49th Annual Local Author Exhibit will remain on display from February 1st through February 28th in the lobby of the San Diego Central Library @ Joan Λ Irwin Jacobs Common.
