Local Author Program
The Local Author Program highlights the intellectual and creative accomplishments of writers and nurtures budding writers in the San Diego region. Special programs for authors are held throughout the year including book discussions, writing workshops and author talks, where writers can interact directly with their readers as they share, sell and sign their books.
Local Author Exhibit
A centerpiece of the Local Author Program is the annual Local Author Exhibit now in its 49th year. The Call for Submissions to San Diego county authors for the 49th Annual Local Author Exhibit for books published in 2014 went out in September. The registration deadline is November 30, 2014. Authors may register online by visiting the local authors registration area.
The 49th Annual Local Author Exhibit will run throughout the entire month of February 2015 in the lobby of the New San Diego Central Library @ Joan Λ Irwin Jacobs Common. Participants will be invited to a preview reception prior to the public unveiling. Submitted publications are also exhibited in an Online Exhibit that lasts throughout the year and features author information and photos, book cover images, and title and publishing information.
