The Campaign for Love & Forgiveness

This multi-year campaign explores how love and forgiveness can effect positive change in individuals and the global community. Join KPBS and the San Diego Public Library, through conversations, letter writing and other special events and activities to connect and share on these topics. The campaign activities are designed with the hope of inspiring participants to more consciously recognize and use the power of love and forgiveness to address issues in their lives and communities.

Our community wide activity, which encourages all San Diegans to participate is "One Book, One San Diego". The selected book, "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and journalist David Oliver Relin recount Mortenson's unlikely journey from a failed attempt to climb Pakistan's K2 (the world's second highest mountain) to successfully building schools in some of Afghanistan and Pakistan's most remote regions.

The campaign begins with the focus on love, which will lead to an exploration of forgiveness. The San Diego Public Library is partnering with KPBS to bring thoughtful conversations about love to the San Diego community.

Digital Storytelling photo

Love Stories Digital Storytelling - Record your own love stories at the Digital Community Storytelling Center at the Central Library, Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. You can create a 3 to 5 minute DVD story about how love has changed your life, or read a love letter you have received or written.

The Violence Impact Forum is an innovative and interactive in-school violence prevention education program designed to steer elementary and middle school students away from violence and gangs toward inspiring, positive, nonviolent choices. Each powerful assembly lasts approximately 60 minutes and includes a full panel of speakers, including Azim Khamisa, Ples Felix, and former San Diego gang members. There is limited availability for guests, so please RSVP to Megan Thomas Wescott at 858-565-0800 Ext.102 or megan@tkf.org.
