Movie: Hawaii: A Voice for Sovereignty
TThis film deals with the exploitation of Hawaii and the survival of Hawaiian culture after the takeover of Hawaii by U.S. businessmen and military in the 1890s. At the forefront of the film are social, economic, and ecological issues that have developed in Hawaii since the takeover, revealed in interviews with grassroots indigenous people and scholars such as author, Haunani-Kay Trask. The film further explores the issues faced by the Native Hawaiians, which threatens Hawaii’s ancient and environmentally sustainable culture.

In 1916, the notorious bandit El Guapo and his gang of thugs are collecting protection money from a small Mexican village. The daughter of the village leader searches for someone who can come to the rescue of her townspeople. While visiting a small village church, she remains to watch a silent film featuring "The Three Amigos" and, believing them to be real heroes, sends a telegram to Hollywood asking them to come and stop El Guapo.
