Parent-Teacher Involvement
You might also consider volunteering at your child's school. This is a great way to participate in your child's education and to make connections with other parents, who can be an invaluable source of support and information. If your child is not comfortable with you helping out in his or her classroom, you can always help out in another classroom. Finally, think about joining your local Parent Teachers Association (PTA). You will find that there is an active PTA associated with just about every public school in San Diego County. Your child's school should be able to give you the contact information, but you can also find your school's PTA through the National PTA Web site (see below).
