PDAsPerhaps you have already encountered this scenario: Your child comes home from school complaining that all the other kids have PDAs and insists that s/he should have one as well. Do you relent and buy one? If you are a parent who is not especially familiar with computer technology,
it may be hard to tell whether or not a PDA is really an educational necessity.

Aren't PDAs too complicated for children?Personal Digital Assistants were originally designed for use by adults, not children. Nevertheless, high school and junior high school students can be reasonably expected to master the skills required to use a PDA. The writing stylus included with most PDAs presents a choking hazard for toddlers and infants. PDAs are also quite fragilea PDA that is regularly taken into a schoolyard is almost certain to become an expensive paperweight. |
