There are numerous circulating and reference books in libraries to support job seekers, including books on career guidance, job search, internships, apprenticeships, jobs abroad, resumes, interviews, cover letters, exam preparation, workplace rights, and much more. Many titles focus on individual industries (health care, travel…), backgrounds (military, educational…), and interests (outdoors, arts…).

Background information on career paths, industry outlook, and companies gives you an advantage. Your local library has many resources on career topics.     Job fairs provide a place to connect with employers who are hiring. Be aware that this is also a screening opportunity for employers, so treat all contacts as you would an interview.
