Title Purchase Recommendation

Use the form below to suggest new titles for the San Diego Public Library collection. You may place a hold on a requested purchase (see below). Please check our Catalog for the title before sending a recommendation. Information from Books-in-Print may help in filling out the recommendation form.

NOTE: Unfortunately, the San Diego Public Library cannot purchase all suggested titles. For very specialized or out-of-print titles you may wish to request an Interlibrary Loan.

Holds Guidelines

  1. SDPL items that circulate may be placed on hold in person, by telephone, or online in the Library Catalog.
  2. Status ("where am I on the list?") will NOT be checked. Patrons can check the status of their holds by logging in to their Library Account.
  3. Patrons will be notified by mail or e-mail when the request is in.
  4. If request is unfilled after 270 days, the patron will be notified.
  5. Items will be held eight (8) days from date notice is sent.

These forms are submitted through the City's secure server. All personal information is kept confidential.
