The City of San Diego, serving as the successor agency per Resolution No. R-307238 (PDF) (January 12, 2012), has assumed the former Agency's assets, rights, and obligations under the California Community Redevelopment Law, subject to some limitations, and is winding down the former Agency's affairs and taking other actions in accordance with the dissolution provisions in Part 1.85 of AB 26. General Project Area InformationThe City of San Diego's 131-acre College Community Redevelopment Project Area focuses on student housing needs, transportation planning, parking, and public improvements. The City is working with private developers to provide adequate student housing. Development has begun on several student housing projects, and a large mixed-use project is in the planning stage. The Project Area is located immediately adjacent to the southern boundary of San Diego State University (SDSU). It is primarily bounded by College Avenue to the east, the SDSU campus to the north, Montezuma Road to the south, and 55th Street to the west. The Project Area also includes the Montezuma Elementary School and a portion of the Alvarado Medical Plaza. Redevelopment Incentives
