CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Ben Haddad at 4:10 pm.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Dana Towers, of One World Online discussed his company's Internet service and how it offers
Internet access for BETTER than Free! (A copy of the company brochure is available
upon request)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of August 28, 2000 and September 25, 2000 were not approved and tabled until the October 23, 200 meeting. There was not a quorum.

CIO REPORT
Ms. Neff gave a brief update on the City's IT Strategic Plan progress.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Cliff Numark, President & CEO of San Diego Regional Technology Alliance briefly discussed
his company's goal of helping turn high-tech ideas into companies and companies into communities.

B. Economic Development & Community Services Presentation
by Hank Cunningham, Director
Mr. Cunningham presented and briefly discussed the Mission of EDC which is to improve the quality of life and ensure a healthy economy for all San Diegans through job development, business development, public infrastructure improvements, social services, and revenue enhancement.

A. Digital Divide - Susan Myrland & Jon Cohen
Susan Myrland and Jon Cohen presented information on the working group's preliminary meeting.
At the meeting members discussed how they would define this issue and how to incorporate public input.
