San Diego is a city that celebrates special events. From major conventions and international sports events to community based festivals, the City of San Diego is proud to host hundreds of events every year. |

The Office of Special Events provides a number of event related services. The primary function of our office is to provide permits for events that occur on public property. Through our one stop permitting process, an event organizer can work with the City to plan all aspects of their event that relate to the use of public property. Typical events in which the Office of Special Events becomes involved includes runs, walks, triathlons, festivals and parades.
