On February 17th, 2009 President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)(PDF: 1Mb). The ARRA provides $787 billion in federal stimulus funds to state and local government. Over the past few months, the City's lobbying team, under the direction of the Mayor, has worked very hard to make sure that the City and region will have funding opportunities in a number of areas including transportation, housing and public safety.
