Watershed Urban Runoff Management Plans (WURMPs)

There are six watersheds located within City of San Diego boundaries. Within San Diego County, portions of watersheds outside City of San Diego boundaries are managed and protected by other cities and the County in a coordinated effort.

The Watershed Urban Runoff Management Plans for the six watersheds in which the City has jurisdiction have been updated per the new requirements in the 2007 Municipal Permit. They describe the many projects and activities planned for these watersheds to further protect our rivers, streams, bays, and the ocean from storm water pollution. Projects and activities are spread out over several years. The City will be continuously reviewing and revising its lists of watershed projects and activities incorporated into the plans to maximize resources and achieve efficiencies, which may create modifications to future lists.
