BMP Verification and Maintenance Outreach Information
The City of San Diego (City) is mandated to regularly inspect and track the inventory of new construction
and redevelopment projects that are installed with permanent storm water treatment devices (also known as Treatment
Control Best Management Practices (BMPs)).
In addition to City-conducted inspections and tracking, property owners are required to conduct their own regular inspections,
perform maintenance as needed, and submit documentation of these activities to the City.
In July, the City began notification to property owners to achieve verification of BMPs on specific properties and report that proper maintenance to the BMPs are being
performed. Documents that have been mailed to property owners are available below as well as request forms for changes to BMP information the City currently has recorded .
