How to Apply for a Business Tax Certificate
The City Treasurer does not have the capability to process your request electronically at this time. If you wish to apply for a Business Tax Certificate (formerly Business License) please follow these instructions carefully.
- Complete the Business Application.

- Attach a check for $76 made payable to the City Treasurer.
For most businesses, $76 will cover the $34 Business Tax, $25 Processing Fee, and the $17 Zoning Use Clearance fee. If your business is located within a BID and you are subject to additional fees, the City Treasurer will send you a bill for the balance due.
- Submit your completed Application and check to the City Treasurer, either by mail or in person.

Follow Up
Your Business Tax Certificates will usually be mailed within two weeks. Please do not call about your Certificate within the first two weeks – you will be notified by mail if your Application is incomplete or not paid in full.
