Black Mountain Road Pipelines Project
Around the clock work planned for Presidents' Day weekend
San Diego, CA... The City of San Diego Water Department has scheduled
construction at the intersection of Carroll Canyon Road and Black Mountain
Road to begin Friday, February 14, at
7 p.m. and continue around the clock until Wednesday, February 19, at
6 a.m. This work for the Black Mountain Road Pipelines Project will connect
the new reclaimed water pipeline to the existing pipeline at this location.
Continuous work during the holiday weekend has been scheduled to minimize
the duration of the reclaimed water shutdown necessary to perform this
work.
Construction work will require the following traffic variations:
One lane in each direction on the southbound side of Black Mountain Road
at the intersection of Black Mountain Road and Carroll Canyon Road will
be open to north and southbound traffic. Both northbound lanes will be closed
at the intersection.
Carroll Canyon Road westbound at the intersection of Black Mountain Road
will be closed. A detour on westbound Carroll Canyon Road will begin at
Maya Linda Road heading south and north to rejoin Black Mountain Road.
Please plan to use alternate routes to avoid delays during this short
period of work. The City of San Diego Water Department recognizes this
is an inconvenience, and appreciates your patience as we work on the Black
Mountain Road pipelines.
More than 44,000 feet of pipeline installation has been completed (out
of a total of 50,000) in parts of Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa and Rancho
Peñasquitos since April 2002. When fully complete, a new 5.5-mile
drinking water pipeline and a 3.8-mile recycled water pipeline will provide
enhanced water system reliability and increased water capacity to the
region.
Archer Western Contractors and the City of San Diego Water Department
appreciate the continued patience of the community during this important
project. A project information line is available to address questions
and concerns from the community about the project. The phone number is
858-646-9890. Calls will be returned within one business day.
The Black Mountain Road Pipelines Project is part of the City of San
Diego Water Department's citywide Capital Improvements Program. Information
on this and other projects is available online at www.sandiego.gov.
