From Source to Tap
When you turn on the water at your faucet, you probably do not think about all the time, energy, costs and other factors it takes for you to receive that water.
In fact, that water likely traveled hundreds, even thousands of miles. The City of San Diego purchases most of our water from suppliers, and then treats and tests the water at our three water treatment plants. The water is then sent through a complex system of pipelines and pumps before it is distributed to customers like you
More information about the sources of our water, where it's purchased from, and how it is treated and delivered can be found at links to the left.
