Rate Adjustment

The City of San Diego imports approximately 90 percent of our water via the San Diego County Water Authority (CWA). Because the City must recover the costs for purchasing water, the increase in charges from the CWA must "pass through" to City Water Department customers.

On October 8, 2007, the City Council approved this "pass through." The increase in rates will take effect January 1, 2008. A typical family using 14 hundred cubic feet (HCF) of water a month will see their bill go up $1.40.
