Water Reclamation Plant Tours

Tours of the North City Water Reclamation Plant and the South Bay Water Reclamation Plant are offered through the Metropolitan Wastewater Department. Learn about the wastewater treatment process, water reuse, and how we protect public health and San Diego's unique environment.

Tours are available to school, community, civic and professional groups. To request a tour, call (858) 292-6484.

Tour Guidelines:

• Age: Nine years and older. Due to safety concerns, exceptions cannot be made.
• We offer tours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
• Reservations are first-come, first-served and depend on staff availability. Please provide at least two weeks' advance notice.
• We welcome groups of five or more. Individual tours are generally not available.
• Tours are approximately 90 minutes in duration. Walking is involved. All participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Sunscreen is recommended.
