Michael P. Wehner

Mike Wehner has over 30 years experience in water-quality control. He has been with the Orange County Water District since 1991, presently acting as Director of Water Quality and Technology, where he manages research activities and all water quality control programs, including compliance monitoring and environmental monitoring for the protection of source waters for recharge. He was also manager of the 8-year Santa Ana River Water Quality and Health Study, which evaluated the impact of using effluent-dominated river waters for groundwater recharge. Prior to joining the Orange County Water District, Wehner spent 20 years with the Orange County Health Care Agency. Wehner received a Masters of Public Administration from California State University Long Beach and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine.
