PERFORMANCE AUDITOR I
Shadi Matar joined the Office of the City Auditor in January of 2020. His work on the 
Follow-up Performance Audit of the Public Utilities Department’s Industrial Wastewater Control Program encouraged the program to update user fees which had been unchanged for decades and to switch to a more streamlined billing process. Additionally, his work on the 
Performance Audit of the Public Utilities Department’s Industrial Wastewater Control Program – Part II found that the program did not have enough staff to keep up with identifying all potential industrial users and that the program may be unaware of hundreds of businesses that may potentially need to be regulated.
Shadi has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from UC San Diego and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UC Riverside.
