Sidewalks and Infrastructure Improvements on the South Side of Market Street

Council President Cole with City of San Diego staff from Street Division and Transportation & Storm Water Departments after the construction of the sidewalks and infrastructure improvements on the south side of Market Street were finished.  The south side project began in January 2016 and was completed early March of 2017.  The project improvements include approximately 3,700 linear feet of sidewalks, driveways, curb ramps, new streetlights, and improved pedestrian crossing to the Valencia Park/Malcolm X Branch Library.

The project now provides safe pedestrian access for the Valencia Park, Emerald Hills, and Encanto communities to go to the Valencia Park/Malcolm X Library, the Legler Benbough Teen IDEA Lab, the Jacobs Center, the trolley station, and all of Market Street Plaza.
