Convention Center Corporation, Inc. (San Diego)

Duties

To be responsible for the management, maintenance, supervision, and operation of the San Diego Convention Center and all incidental or related matters. Develop, recommend and implement programs concerning promotion and marketing. To enter into contracts necessary or expedient in furtherance of purposes for corporation.

Appointment

The Mayor shall appoint one director as a representative of the Mayor and the Council shall appoint one director as a representative of Council. The remaining directors shall be elected by the member (City of San Diego Council).

Term

Three (3) year staggered terms and until a successor has been elected and qualified. Directors may not serve more than two (2) consecutive three-year terms.

Composition

The authorized number of directors of the Corporation shall be seven (7). The Mayor shall appoint one director as a representative of the Mayor and the Council shall appoint one director as a representative of Council. The remaining directors shall be elected by the member (City of San Diego Council). These procedures shall include a method by which the Mayor submits candidates for election to the member (City of San Diego Council) for its consideration.
