Assistant City Attorney
Dan Bamberg started his legal career as a criminal prosecutor for the City of San Diego from 1974-1977, where he was eventually in charge of the City Attorney's Consumer Prosecution Unit. Mr. Bamberg left the City Attorney's Office for private practice, prosecuting primarily for 28 years plaintiffs' civil actions at trial and on appeal. Mr. Bamberg rejoined the City Attorney's Office in 2005. Since 2008 he has served as Chief of the Civil Prosecution Unit which has brought into the City's general fund tens of millions of dollars. He has served as the chair of the Settlement Authorization group since its inception in 2009. He is also the City's attorney of record in 2 "Homeless" cases over which the Federal Courts retain jurisdiction to monitor the policies and procedures of the City regarding its homeless population.
Dan Bamberg was an editor of The Law Review and Law School Newspaper; and, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1974.
