Assistant City Attorney
Sanna Singer began her career at San Francisco Bay Area law firms Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and Sideman & Bancroft LLP, where she litigated contract, commercial real estate, white-collar crime, and securities law actions on behalf of Fortune 500 corporations.
Ms. Singer joined the San Diego City Attorney's Office in 2007, where she served as a Deputy City Attorney through 2012. Ms. Singer began in the Civil Advisory Division, where she advised the Mayor’s Office, City Council, City Auditor, and various City departments on high-profile matters, including the Living Wage Ordinance, the Small and Local Business Program, managed competition, the City's ambulance contract, and the Floatopia Ordinance. She also served in the Litigation Division, where she handled employment law trials and pension-related litigation.
Ms. Singer spent 2012 through May 2017 as a Deputy Attorney General in the Office of the California Attorney General, where she prosecuted and investigated violations of California consumer protection laws, including California Business and Professions Code section 17200, with an emphasis in health fraud, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. She returned to the City Attorney's Office as Assistant of the Civil Advisory Division in June 2017.
Ms. Singer received her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, with High Honors in 1999, and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), in 2003. She is a member of the Lawyer's Club of San Diego.
