Policies & Projects

The I-5 North Coast Corridor HOV/Managed Lanes Project proposes to add High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV)/Managed Lanes, auxiliary lanes and possibly one general-purpose lane in each direction to I-5 between La Jolla Village Drive in San Diego and Harbor Drive in Oceanside/Camp Pendleton.

On September 9, 2010, Councilmember Lightner requested an extension to the Public Comment Period for the Draft EIR/EIS, given the extreme length of the document and the timing of its release.

Caltrans has agreed to extend the public comment period, and comments are now due on November 22, 2010. More information is available at the following link:

The draft environmental document (EIR/EIS) for the project is available for review at:

A hard copy is available for review in the following public libraries: Carmel Valley (3919 Townsgate Drive), Del Mar (1309 Camino Del Mar), & Solana Beach (157 Stevens Avenue). Additional library locations are listed in the "General Information" portion of the EIR/EIS.
