Liezl graduated with a B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.

Prior to joining Councilmember Zapf?s office, Liezl worked in the Council District Four office for eight years where she served as the Special Projects and Programs Director managing the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Community Projects, Programs and Services (CPPS) and Tourism Occupancy Tax (TOT) grant programs. Liezl also worked as a Policy Advisor on transportation and workforce development issues brought before the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Metropolitan Transit System, SANDAG and the San Diego Workforce Partnership.

In addition, Liezl served as a Council Representative providing constituent services to seven communities in District Four. She was also the liaison to the Asian/ Pacific Islander community and worked on special community projects such as the Filipino- American Arts and Culture Festival and Holiday Trolley Entertainment Series.

As Councilmember Zapf?s Director of Policy and Outreach, Liezl is responsible for advising the Councilmember on policy issues coming before the City Council, the Metropolitan Trasit Board (MTS), and serves the communities of Pacific Beach and Mission Bay.

Liezl loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys traveling.
