Marc serves as Council Representative for Councilmember Lorie Zapf for the Second District communities within Clairemont and Linda Vista.
Marc was born and raised in California’s Central Valley. Moving to San Diego over 20 years ago, Marc graduated from San Diego State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Geography. Previously he earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Merced Community College.
Before joining Councilmember Zapf’s office, Marc worked with a number of projects, campaigns, and non-profits in the San Diego region and Southern California. His work has included organizing at the grass-roots level to major donor fundraising at the national level. Among his work was Able-Disabled Advocacy’s Community Based Outreach for the Social Equity Engagement and Analysis in SANDAG’s Regional Plan. In addition to these projects, Marc has worked for elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels of government, including 5 years for local Congressman Brian Bilbray.
Outside of the office, he is actively involved in the Norwegian-American community as a member of the Sons of Norway, Valhall Lodge and the House of Norway in Balboa Park, where he serves as a Trustee. He is also involved in a number of local political organizations.
