Elsa serves as Councilmember Jennifer Campbell’s Communications Director. She oversees District 2 News Conferences, Media Inquiries, Social Media, the monthly Campbell Chronicles Newsletter, Proclamations, Commendations, and Adjournments.
Prior to joining Councilmember Campbell’s office, Elsa co-created, co-produced, and hosted the Emmy-Nominated San Diego's Historic Places series about the region's rich and diverse history. She produced more than 80 documentaries, with her husband Guillermo Sevilla, since 2008. The series still airs on KPBS-TV.
Before Historic Places, Elsa worked as a Television Journalist for KGTV-10, receiving numerous accolades, including multiple-Emmy nominations for her Journalistic work. Above all, Elsa considers herself a storyteller and loves using words, narration, facts, and images to tell people's stories.
Away from work, Elsa’s greatest joy is spending time with her husband, two adult children, and three dogs. She finds inspiration in volunteering with MANA de San Diego since 1993, a non-profit organization supporting education, leadership, and creating equity for Latinas. In her spare time, Elsa loves the outdoors, hiking, and history.
