Chair: Economic Development and Intergovernmental Relations Committee

 

The Economic Development and Intergovernmental Relations Committee's area of responsibility includes intergovernmental relations, interagency and bi-national agreements, international trade, foreign trade zones, educational partnerships, San Diego Regional Airport Authority, Port District, San Diego Convention Center Corporation, city-wide economic development programs and strategy, workforce development, commercial marketing district, business improvement districts, arts and culture, open data, and Civic San Diego.

Committee members include Chris Ward (Chair), Monica Montgomery (Vice Chair), Barbara Bry, and Mark Kersey.

Vice Chair: Active Transportation and Infrastructure Committee

 

The Active Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's area of responsibility includes individual infrastructure projects related to water, wastewater, stormwater, and parks with the exception of pure water. This encompasses capital improvement program (CIP), oversight of CIP streamlining, infrastructure finance, regional transportation improvement program, asset management, infrastructure condition assessment monitoring and implementation, neighborhood input on infrastructure needs and priorities, stormwater infrastructure, public facilities financing plans, development impact fees, facilities benefit assessments, wastewater infrastructure, water infrastructure, city facilities, park infrastructure, multi-year CIP plan and transportation infrastructure, public works and ADA CIP projects, transportation planning, transit services, parking, municipal airports, community parking districts, ADA compliance and accessibility, walkability and bicycle programs.

Vice Chair: Land Use and Housing Committee

 

The Land Use and Housing Committee's area of responsibility includes planning, land use, affordable housing, general plan amendments, land development code, real estate assets, historical issues/mills act, community plans, coastal overlay zone and permanent supportive housing.

Committee members include Vivian Moreno (Chair), Chris Ward (Vice Chair), Jennifer Campbell, and Scott Sherman

The Rules Committee's area of responsibility includes the charter, permanent rules of council, open government, elections and ballot measures, annexations, boards and commissions, council initiated matters, communications, customer service and public outreach.

Chair: Regional Task Force on the Homeless

The Regional Task Force on the Homeless (RTFH) is an integrated array of stakeholders committed to preventing and alleviating homelessness in San Diego. We provide essential data and insights on the issue of homelessness, informing policy and driving system design and performance.

With some exceptions, board meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 3:00-5:00 p.m., at the County Administration Center (1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101), in rooms 302-303.
