184 Days as Mayor

It was an honor to serve as San Diego's Interim Mayor from August 30, 2013 through March 3, 2014. In just 184 days, we accomplished so much for San Diego.

When I assumed the office of Interim Mayor on August 30, 2013, I had 81 days to accomplished as much as I possibly could before voters returned to the polls on November 19 to elect a new mayor. Since one candidate did not receive more than 50% of the vote, the two front-runner candidates head to a run-off election on February 11, 2014. After the election is certified, we expect a new mayor will assume office the first week of March. That means my initial 81 days turned into 184 days. It's been a busy and productive time since August 30. Here's what I've been working on.
