Councilmember Monica Montgomery
As a Policy Advisor for Councilmember Monica Montgomery, Eric Henson was born and raised in Council District 4, with his motivation that stemmed from his curiosity about the history of vacant land and buildings in the area. He has arrived to the Council District 4 office after serving two months in 2018 under the City of San Diego’s Development Services Department as a Zoning Investigator. His previous experience includes internships at the federally-managed San Diego Housing Commission’s Workforce and Economic Development Department, the City of San Diego’s Human Resources Work Readiness Team, the City of San Diego’s Planning Department, and the San Diego Unified Port District’s Development Services Department. He received his Master’s in City Planning from San Diego State University in December 2017, with undergrad degrees from University of California San Diego in Urban Studies, and Political Science at San Diego City College. As a former chairperson for the Skyline-Paradise Hills Planning Committee, Eric’s policy interests focus on land use and the environment, community development, and economic development, as he feels these are factors that connect people to the idea of place and prosperity.
