Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she focused largely on her interest in global human rights and humanitarian affairs. Prior to joining the Fourth District Council office, she gained experience working in both the non-profit sector and higher education. In Washington, D.C. she served as a Program Intern at Vital Voices Global Partnership, before completing a Fellowship at the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh.

As a Policy Advisor to Councilmember Cole, Kathleen is responsible for advising the Councilmember on matters related to, and coming before the San Diego Housing Commission, the Infrastructure Committee, and the Metropolitan Transit Authority Board of Directors. In addition, she serves as an advocate and a liaison to the Rolando Park and Redwood Village Community Councils, and she is honored to serve all the communities of the Fourth Council District.
