Scott Sherman, a small business owner and lifelong resident of San Diego's 7th District, was elected to the City Council on June 6, 2012.

He represents the neighborhoods of Allied Gardens, Linda Vista, Mission Valley, Serra Mesa, Tierrasanta, San Carlos, Del Cerro, Grantville, and MCAS Miramar.

Prior to taking office, Scott spent several decades building a small insurance business. His hard work and perseverance over the years helped him provide jobs to more than two dozen hard working San Diegans.

Scott ran for City Council to bring accountability back to City Hall. He supported Comprehensive Pension Reform and is working to ensure that San Diego has the resources to fully fund public safety, roads, parks, and libraries.

Scott plays an active role in helping charitable causes, particularly those that focus on assisting families and children such as the the Make A Wish Foundation, YMCA, Burn Institute, and the Children's Convalescent Hospital. He also volunteers with the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization that provides unique programs to injured service members returning from conflict overseas. Scott and his wife, Norma Mouet, live in Allied Gardens area near the house where he grew up.
