Luqmaan Bokhary
Law Clerk
Luqmaan Bokhary currently serves as a Law Clerk for the Commission on Police Practices. He supports the Commission’s mandate of independent oversight through legal and policy means, helping to strengthen accountability and public trust in policing. As a San Diego native, Mr. Bokhary brings a deep commitment to the city and to advancing equitable and transparent public institutions.
His prior professional experiences span civil and labor rights advocacy, public policy, and corporate law. He worked with a San Francisco nonprofit supporting low-income workers through legal advocacy and community education on labor and employment rights. He contributed to policy initiatives as a Student Fellow at the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Additionally, he has gained litigation experience at a global law firm and has worked in contract administration at a leading technology company.
Mr. Bokhary is pursuing his Juris Doctor at the University of Michigan Law School, where he serves as a Senior Editor on the Michigan Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy, magna cum laude, from Brown University.
