Experience the best of our city through this 10-minute virtual reality experience in one location, the San Diego History Center in the heart of Balboa Park.

Visitors will be immersed in a virtual world of truly unique San Diego environments. Face a Padres pitcher’s fastball inside the batter’s box, hang glide over the Pacific and the Torrey Pines golf course, gaze at the sunrise out in the Anza Borrego Desert, look out from the California Tower in Balboa Park, or take the ice at a San Diego Gulls game. Tickets are $5.

San Diego Model Railroad Museum

At 28,000 square feet, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum is the world's largest operating model railroad museum. This unique museum contains four enormous scale and model layouts, built by separate clubs, which depict railroads of the Southwest in O, HO, and N scales. In addition, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum features a Toy Train Gallery with an interactive Lionel layout for children and state-of-the-art theater lighting.

Blind Community Center of San Diego

The Blind Community Center of San Diego (BCC) offers social, recreation, and educational activities to promote independence and self-reliance for the blind and visually impaired. Located in Balboa Park since 1949, the BCC provides an environment for personal growth, social integration and interaction, and the development of individual skills and talents. At the BCC, participants make crafts, play games, go on field trips and have a free lunch every day. Purchase hand crafted items such as crocheted and knitted hats, scarves, slippers, hand warmers, beads and safety pin lamps, Holiday wreaths, ornaments, Mason jar dried bean soup mix.
