Citywide Economic Development Support
The City of San Diego's Citywide Economic Development Support (CEDS) program provides Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) funds through a merit-based application process to qualified nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations. Qualifying organizations produce significant programs and events that improve the City's economy by boosting tourism and attracting industry on a citywide basis.
The general requirements and conditions for the allocation of TOT funding for the CEDS program are outlined in City Council Policy 100-03.
The CEDS application will generally be made available in January. The applications are reviewed and recommendations are submitted as part of the annual budget. City Council will typically consider the recommendations during City Council budget hearings. The recommendations are finalized when the City's annual appropriation ordinance is adopted in June or July.
New in Fiscal Year 2018
Applicants will be required to submit their applications electronically using SeamlessDocs before the noon deadline on March 29, 2017. A link to that portal will be available soon.
