Become an expert in composting, meet new people and participate in interesting events, all while serving your community. The Master Composter course provides training in the art and science of composting, soil management and how to teach it to others. Certification requires attendance once a week at the five-week course and completion of 30 hours of community outreach. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to apply. In light of the evolving situation regarding COVID-19, the City of San Diego Environmental Services Department and Solana Center are postponing the start of the Spring Master Composter Course on March 17, 2020 until further notice. This is a precautionary and preventive measure to reduce potential transmission and spread of the COVID-19 virus. We will be in contact with the Spring registered students as soon as we have further information about the new dates for Master Composter. We will hold your registration fee and your spot in the rescheduled course pending the new dates.
