The new HUD Healthy Home Rating System (HHRS) follows the same qualitative approach to identifying health and safety hazards in the home as the UK's HHRS. The inspection process is a risk-based assessment and considers the effect of occupant health and safety of any hazards in the property. Hazards are rated according to how serious they are and the effect they are having, or could have, on the occupants, that is, "the effect of the defect." The basic principle is that the property should be safe and healthy for the occupants. Participants will learn to use this new cutting edge assessment system during this two-day course that brings together professionals with a variety of perspectives and experiences. It includes a series of exercises and a field trip to give you actual hands-on experience on how to use this system.

Continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments provided each day.
