The Green Partnering Program

Manufacturers of selected energy efficiency and environmentally enhanced products joined together in The Green Partnering Program. As a partner, each manufacturer donated or gave discounts on the building products used in exchange for public recognition and other privileges. "Gold," "Silver" and "Bronze" partnerships were established to honor manufacturers depending on the contribution level which ranged from $3,000 to $30,000 and up.

At the "Gold" partnership level are San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). SDG&E provided significant financial incentives for energy efficiency measures, and together with EPRI funded a consultant, Gottfried Technology, for energy efficiency and development of the partnership program for the City.

To showcase the manufacturers' environmentally sound products and services that contributed to the green building renovation, educational exhibits were designed and are on display on the first floor of the building.
