Mormon Battalion, US Army of the West, 175th Anniversary Commemorative March

175th Anniversary Parade and Community Celebration of the arrival of the Mormon Battalion, US Army of the West, arrival in San Diego in 1847 at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Free Children's Crafts, Activities, Frontier Games and Music, and Great Family Fun. The Children's Legacy Parade begins at 10:00 am in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and will be joined by the 335-man Mormon Battalion Commemorative March which also begins at 10:00 am at the Mormon Battalion Historic Site and will march through Old Town down Harney Street to San Diego Ave and into the Park.

Location: Staging area for March (procession) is at the end of Harney Street at the Mormon Battalion Historic Site with approximately 350 participants. March will begin at 10 am and will proceed across Juan St at Harney Street, down Harney one block and take a right turn onto San Diego Ave. , proceed one block, cross Twigg Street and march into the State Park. They will march on the right side of the road and will not impede oncoming traffic. Typical vehicle speed on the roads is about 15 mph. The entire march should last only about 15 minutes.
