Students Surprised with a Visit from Santa
December 21, 2015
Kindergarteners shouted with glee when Mayor Kevin Faulconer, dressed as Santa Claus, made a special visit at Burbank Elementary School in December.
The Mayor spent time singing Christmas songs and reading with the children in his sisters classroom in Logan Heights. Its a tradition hes kept for nearly 15 years. Handing out bundles of books to the students is Mayor Faulconers way of encouraging the kids to continue a lifetime of learning.
Santas here to remind them how important it is that theyre reading, said Mayor Faulconer. Thats why Santa brings books every year when he comes.
In a tradition extending back to 1998, Santa Claus made a special visit with a gift for the children at Burbank Elementary School in Logan Heights.
