Solid Waste Permitting and Inspection Program

The City of San Diego Solid Waste Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) issues permits to active landfills, transfer facilities, and composting facilities within the City limits in order to enforce state minimum standards through the Solid Waste Permitting and Inspection Program. The LEA also inspects closed, illegal and abandoned disposal sites, historic burn ash sites, EA Notification tier operations, and solid waste haulers.
