San Diego - Today Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer announced the appointment of Ron Villa as Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Internal Operations and the hiring of David Graham as the new Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Neighborhood Services.
Villa has been with the City for 28 years and currently serves as Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Neighborhood Services. He will replace Jeff Sturak, who is leaving his position of DCOO of Internal Operations on May 30 to pursue other opportunities.
Graham, who currently serves as Chief of Staff to City Councilmember Mark Kersey, will replace Villa as DCOO of Neighborhood Services. Graham has 15 years of experience in government policy issues, including previous service as Director of the City's Office of Economic Growth Services.
Chief Operating Officer Scott Chadwick made the changes to the City's Executive Team with the full support of Mayor Faulconer.
"Ron Villa's experience with the city of San Diego provides him with the institutional knowledge necessary to succeed in his new position and ensure all City departments are performing efficiently and effectively," Faulconer said. "David Graham's background and passion for land-use issues, economic development and civic engagement make him an ideal choice to lead the City's Neighborhood Services branch."
Faulconer added, "On behalf of the City, I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to Jeff Sturak for his professionalism and outstanding management of City operations. I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
