Faulconer Celebrates, Swears-In Board of Directors for National Latina Business Women Association

At 10 Year Anniversary Celebration, Mayor Recognizes NLBWA-SD for Leadership

San Diego, CA – In recognition of the outstanding leadership provided by Latina businesswomen who create many opportunities for San Diego residents, families and children throughout the region, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer joined Mayor-elect Mary Salas of Chula Vista, Rep. Scott Peters (CA-52) and other local officials and community leaders in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the National Latina Business Women Association of San Diego (NLBWA-SD).

“More Latina women in leadership roles mean more opportunities and more thriving communities,” said Mayor Faulconer. “I’m thrilled to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the National Latina Business Women Association here and the success of Latina businesswomen across San Diego, which is a testament to our city’s inclusive, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.”

Following Mayor Faulconer’s proclamation presentation and the swearing-in ceremony, the association presented several awards to San Diego Latina businesswomen including the “Fastest Growing Business of the Year,” “Business Member Volunteer of the Year,” and “Trailblazer of the Year.” The NLBWA-SD was established in 2004 to meet the growing needs of the growing ranks of Latina entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals in San Diego. The NLBWA-SD encourages Latinas to develop their business and professional goals through education, networking and business referrals.
