Faulconer Marks One Year in Office by Encouraging the True Spirit of One San Diego

Mayor Joins Local Leaders & Hosts a Series of Events Focused on Charity & Inclusiveness

San Diego, CA – Marking 365 days in office, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer celebrated one full year in office and gave thanks to San Diego residents and city employees by participating in a series of events that promoted the charitable and inclusive theme of One San Diego.

EVENT #1

8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Coffee and Donuts with SDSU Fire Station (Media Availability)

4605 62nd St., San Diego, CA 92115

Mayor Faulconer teamed up with Fire Chief Javier Mainar to hand-deliver coffee, donuts and bagels to show thanks for the City’s firefighters at Station No. 10 near his alma mater, San Diego State University.

Balboa Explorer Pass News Conference

Mayor Faulconer joined Councilmember Todd Gloria to announce a $1 million donation to provide free Balboa Park Explorer passes to more than 5,000 low-income San Diego families. The passes will allow up to two adults and four children free admittance to all the museums and institutions in the park for a year.

First Annual One San Diego Fundraiser (Media Availability)

Port Pavilion on the Broadway Pier, 1000 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA

Mayor Faulconer accompanied First Lady Katherine Stuart, over 1,000 members of the community, 15 restaurants from across the city and multiple San Diego performing groups for a unique and diverse San Diego neighborhood experience to raise funds for the One San Diego nonprofit, which was launched last year. Proceeds from the invitation-only fundraiser will benefit One San Diego efforts to build stronger and more beautiful communities, enhance economic opportunity, and improve the lives of San Diego youth through meaningful educational and recreational opportunities.
