Mayor Faulconer, Councilmember Kersey Tour Site of Extinguished Scripps Ranch Fire

Second Brush Fire in City of San Diego This Week Was Quickly Put Out Wednesday by SDFD

San Diego, CA – Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer today toured the site of Wednesday’s brush fire in Scripps Ranch. The fire was quickly put out yesterday evening by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department with assistance from the San Diego Police Department. It was the second blaze to erupt within San Diego city limits this week following the Bernardo Fire on Tuesday. The Bernardo Fire has burned nearly 1,600 acres and is currently 75 percent contained.

Mayor Faulconer is continuing to monitor countywide fire activity today and reminds San Diego residents to heed the direction of law enforcement officials.

Mayor Faulconer was joined by Councilmember Mark Kersey, who represents Scripps Ranch and the northeastern San Diego communities affected by the Bernardo Fire, Fire-Rescue Chief Javier Mainar, Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman and Scripps Ranch community members.
