Faulconer Invites San Diegans to State of the City Address

Mayor Presents New Vision to Create Opportunities for San Diego Residents

Monday, December 8, 2014

San Diego, CA – Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer today announced that he will unveil a new vision to create opportunities and improve the lives of San Diego residents at his first State of the City address on January 14, 2015, in the historic Balboa Theatre.

“San Diego is a city of great promise, and now is the time to turn our potential into progress,” said Mayor Faulconer. “As mayor, I’m grateful to work on your behalf to build a more trustworthy, inclusive and effective city government. I know there is much more work we need to do, so I invite you to join me as I discuss how we move forward together.”

San Diegans can RSVP for the State of the City Address online. The event is free and open to the public.

Upon taking office last March, Mayor Faulconer began implementing his One San Diego vision by building a more inclusive city government that creates opportunities for San Diego residents and delivers results for every neighborhood. Under his One San Diego platform, Mayor Faulconer hired the first female police chief in San Diego history; directed 50 percent of all new major revenue toward neighborhood improvements; improved emergency response times in underserved neighborhoods; increased hours at libraries to their highest level in a decade; is working to bring a customer-service attitude to city government; and is helping innovative companies grow, expand and hire in San Diego.
