Mayor Faulconer Kicks Off Largest Lunar New Year Festival in San Diego

Mayor Faulconer, More Than 15,000 San Diegans Come Together for Cultural Celebration

San Diego – With 15,000 residents from across the city coming together as One San Diego, Mayor Kevin Falconer welcomed the Year of the Monkey at 2016 San Diego Tet Festival Celebration.

The festival, which marks the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, hosts a variety of events including traditional lion dances, singing and dancing competitions, and the Miss Vietnam Pageant in a rich celebration of Vietnamese heritage and culture. The three-day event is entering its 11th year as a beloved cultural celebration for San Diego’s Vietnamese-American population.
